Wind In March

"Wind in March"
Pencil, colored in photoshop

For book illustration I had to do a book cover to a fake story written by a fake author. Of the list of fake titles and authors, I decided to illustrate Ray Parker's "Wind of March." My idea was that one day in March a powerful gust of wind and animals blows a girl away from her family.

For some reason the colors are a little washed out here on blogger. To see a better version of this you can click here.

  1. Um, why haven't I commented on this yet?? Beautiful! Love your textures again! And your colors in this are really great and fitting for the mood without going with the typical gray tones many people might go with. Sounds like a sad story. Hope there's a happy ending somehow.

  2. Thank you so much! And hmm, as for the ending, thinking about it... I highly doubt she'll return to her family. Instead, she'll probably end up stranded on a cloud somewhere, conversing with the animals and hoping that one day she'll return back to ground. The animals will be really nice to her, so it's not completely a terrible ending. Just another chapter of life I guess!
